The Amazing Paper-cut Art
of Zim and Zou

27 Mar

We’re always blown away at the care and craft that goes into the French-duo Zim & Zou’s paper-cut artwork and when they make a new camera we always get excited. Their latest paper-cut camera was made for the official poster of the SXSW Film Festival 2014 (Created in collaboration with Gravillis, inc.) In addition to the “film” camera and elements, they created some key Austin symbols like the Paramount Theater, Food Trailer Parks, and the South Congress Bridge bats.

Gravillis said,

“Our goal was to create a poster that did not feel like it could be easily digitally reproduced. Ultimately, we wanted to embrace the ‘do-it-yourself’ ethos that SXSW has shown each year with their creative and imaginative footprint at the festival.”

Here are some details of the camera that show why working with Zim & Zou was a great idea!
