Once Upon by Heidi Lender

Heidi Lender has a fun and storied past, beginning as a child in the mid-sixties. After earning a BA from Cornell University she wrote and styled for various fashion magazines and traveled often to places like New York, London and Paris. After a long break (6 years) in India studying yoga and finding her inner universe, she discovered her first digital SLR (2008) and left the words behind in favor of creating images like the ones from her amazing Once Upon Project.
In “Once Upon” she explores the wild and controlled personalities within herself and how fashion and design can mold the characters she creates. These headless self-portraits with all their color, texture and varied environments help her to express and illustrate who she is, where she’s been and where she is going. The anonymous nature of the images also helps you to imagine yourself as that character as well.

Be sure to check out the other amazing projects too from Heidi’s Site.
