We’re in luv with San Francisco illustrator Lisa Congdon‘s work. Especially her Photography-inspired journal that was recently released by Compendium for a cool $6.95. It’s a charming little 5″x8″ journal with 128 hand-lined pages interspersed with cool hand-drawn photography quotes from the masters and Lisa’s cool vintage camera paintings and line drawings.
Here’s a sampling of some of the interior images that are available to preview online:

San Francisco-based Photographer Ryan Tatar (one of our favorite features) has made quite a name for himself with his beautiful cross-processed lo-fi surf photography. His analog approach helps him feel miles away from his busy day job and let’s him focus on just making great images.
On this episode of D-I-Why Not? for Korduroy.tv, he breaks down the basics of shooting film.

New to our Must-have list is the recently released Belair X 6-12 from Lomography. It’s a modern vintage throwback camera that you can’t ignore.
It comes in 3 models available for pre-order now, the Globe-trotter, the Jetsetter and the all black City Slicker. Each camera boasts auto-exposure capabilities, two inter-changeable lenses (90mm & 58mm), & bellows for easy folding.
One of the coolest things about this vintagy 120 film shooter is that it can shoot three aspect ratios— a square 6×6, a standard 6×9, and the 6-12 panorama. Other notables include zone focusing, support ISO film from 50 to 1600, a standard hot-shoe mount, and the Bulb mode and double exposure shooting modes you’d expect from Lomography.
Here a few sample images from the cameras:
The cameras are currently in short supply so order soon (globe-trotter already sold out), they’re guaranteeing delivery by December 19th for most countries.
Last week the city of Los Angeles welcomed Space Shuttle Endeavor to it’s new home, the California Science Center. The four-day journey through the streets of LA to the Science Center was captured beautifully in time-lapse in so many great angles by Matthew Givot and his small army of collaborators which included Joe Capra, Chris Pritchard, Brian Hawkins, Andrew Walker & Ryan Killackey and more.
This has been an amazing experience that I will never forget. My hope is that this film will show you the amount of dedicated people and teamwork that it took to get the Endeavour to its new home.—Matt Givot

People always ask creatives where their inspiration comes from. We say it’s all around us … you just have to look.
The crew at CountryTrouble got inspired to create this cool animated short thanks to an old family photo album they picked up at Melrose Trading Market in Los Angeles.
