Shae Detar Photography

We’re not sure how we haven’t heard of former model turned photographer Shae Detar before, but her personal painted photography blew us away. It’s whimsical and fun and just plain cool. Her other work for magazines and clothing companies is also inspiring. Shae grew up in Pennsylvania and New York and in her late teens started modeling and traveling the world. In the recent past she turned the camera on other subjects and has been telling her own beatifully style stories in film and paint ever since. She now spends most of her time in the Hollywood Hills with her musician husband Brett and Chinese Shar Pei rescue dog, Waylon, but can still be found in NYC from time to time.

Take a look a a sampling of some of our favorite images from Shae’s portfolio and personal work and be sure to check out Shae’s sites below.

Be sure to Contact Shae for your next fashion, editorial, or advertising shoot and while your at it buy a print!

Spotted this cool Retro Camera-themed iPhone Case over at the Nylon Shop ($36). It’s available for iPhone 4/4S & 5. Looks like the artist Alii Fuerza also has one left at her etsy store for a little cheaper too.

After looking at a few of  Daeja Fallas images, it’s no surprise to hear she grew up in Hawaii as her love people, the sun and ocean is so beautifully apparent. Zipping Back The Mystery

Zipping Back The Mystery

To us, there’s nothing cooler than vintage cameras. Guangzhou Art Academy student, Hu Shaoming takes our love and turns it into art with these two beautiful zippered cameras from his Reconnecting Time series. He spent months cutting and revealing the magical working internal components and the results are clearly awesome.
