Alastair lives on the edge of the world, calling the warm, westerly and rocky coast of Penzance, Cornwall in England his home. He uses light wonderfully to capture his subjects at just the right moment, whether they’re on a winding path through the woods on the way to a surf break, hiking the edge of a cliff, or exploring an abandoned ship on Penzance’s textured coast. Whether they’re musicians, models or friends makes no difference to his images, Alastair makes you wish you were there on the other side of his lens.
We found Alastair after watching the must-see short film The Dark Side of the Lens made by a collective he’s a part of called Astray Films. The film captures the danger and beauty of the sea and shows the commitment Alastair and his friends have to their craft.
